About Us

Who We Are

The Hood River County Democrats is a volunteer-powered organization committed to building an inclusive, responsible, and responsive democracy. We work to elect qualified progressives to represent the people of Hood River County at the local, state, and federal levels.

The organization consists of an Executive Committee (including our officers), a governing Central Committee (officers + all Precinct Committee Persons), and registered Democrats residing within the county.

 What We Do

The largest share of our work is political campaign operations and community outreach. Our priority is to elect Democrats, so we work to recruit, prepare, and support qualified Democratic candidates for elected and appointed offices. We engage county Dems through informative presentations, social and community service events, and a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. And we prepare community members to be the leaders, volunteers, and candidates that we need going forward.

Meetings

We meet on the second Thursday of [almost] every month, 6-7:30pm. We have a social time 6-6:30pm, and the general meeting is 6:30-7:30pm.

Dems, come join us for our next meeting. We have a zoom option too so you can tune in remotely if that works better for you.

We email a reminder several days before each meeting to those on our mailing list. Sign up here to be added to the mailing list.

Get Involved

There are LOTS of different ways to get involved with the HRC Dems!

Besides our monthly meetings, we have happy hours and other social events, family picnics, 4th of July parade, fundraising events, community service projects, a robust GOTV (get out the vote) program, candidate recruiting & support, voter registration, and a host of other opportunities - both episodic and ongoing.

There’s something here for everyone! Let us know what interests you. Come join us!
